 Looking for something to do on some spring, summer or fall weekend? If so, Jones County has numerous events to offer people -- on weekends and weekdays.

 Here’s a look at many of the scheduled events coming up this late spring, summer and fall in and near Jones County


JUNE
    • June - October – Jones County Farmer's Market at Monticello Middle School Parking Lot
    • June 6 – Midwest Hillclimbers Association 54th Annual Motorcycle Hill Climb (Rain date June 15)
    • June 1 – Morley Firefighters annual Pancake Breakfast at the Morley fire station
    • June 5 (and every Saturday through)

    • June 12 – Annual J&P Cycles Poker Run to benefit Camp Courageous
    • June 13 – Grant Wood Art Festival in Stone City
    • June 26 – 25th Annual J&P Cycles Customer Appreciation Day including, swap meet, and ride-in bike show, motorcycle rodeo, live blues music
    • June 27 – Red, White and Boom Bicycle Ride

JULY
    • July 4 – Monticello Fourth of July celebration. Day begins with the Firemen's breakfast at 6:30 a.m. at the Monticello Berndes Center. Parade at noon, Bill Riley Talent Show at 3 p.m., food, fun and fireworks, 2 p.m. to dark at the Monticello Fairgrounds
    • July 4 – Fourth of July celebration in Anamosa and Oxford Junction. Both communities will have fireworks shows and Oxford Junction will also have activities to celebrate the Fourth
    • July 9-11 – Wyoming Fair and Horse Show in Wyoming
    • July 11 – Monticello Day at Cedar Rapids Kernels baseball game
    • Ju;;y 11 – Riverside Garden Walk, Monticello
    • July 18 – Monticello Regional Airport Fly-in breakfast
    • July 18, 1-5 p.m. – Martelle Garden Tour. The tour includes three gardens featuring landscaping, an English cottage and annuals and perennials.
    July 21 - 25 – Great Jones County Fair and Food Fest
    • July 30-31, Aug. 1,6,7 and 8 – Starlighters II Theatre in Anamosa presents Anything Goes. For tickets, call 319-462-4793.

AUGUST
    • Aug. 6-8 – The Annual Olin Jamboree. Activities include parade, square dancing, games, tractor pulls, softball
    • Aug. 18 – Ping Pong Ball-o-rama in Monticello
    • Aug. 29 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) – Edinburgh Day at the ghost town of Edinburgh near Amber

SEPTEMBER
    • Sept. 12 – Motorcycle hillclimb, swap meet and ride-in bike show near Anamosa. (Rain date Sept. 21)
    • Sept. 26 – St. Patrick's Fall Festival at the Lawrence Community Center, Anamosa

OCTOBER
    • Oct. 2 – Pumpkinfest at the Lawrence Community Center, Anamosa
    • Oct. 3 – Pumpkinfest Pancake Breakfast at the Lawrence Community Center, Anamosa
    • Oct. 3 – American Mini Pullers Garden Tractor Pull, Anamosa Athletic Field, Walworth Ave.
    • Oct. 15-17, Oct. 22-24 – Starlighters II Theatre in Anamosa presents To Forgive, Divine. For tickets, call 319-462-4793.
    • Oct. 16 – Holiday Bazaar at the Lawrence Community Center in Anamosa
    • Oct. 27 – Spook Parade and Carnival in Anamosa
    • Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce Employee Breakfast (date yet to be determined)
    • Treats on the Streets in Monticello (date yet to be determined)

NOVEMBER
    • Nov. 16 – Booster Club girls' basketball tournament in Anamosa
    • Monticello Community Christmas tree lighting and Merchants Holiday Open House (dates yet to be determined). Also during this time until Christmas, Commercial Club Christmas Cash Giveaway (dates yet to be determined)
    • Nov. 25 – Thanksgiving Dinner at Lawrence Community Center
    • Nov. 29 – Parade of Lights, Main Street, Anamosa

DECEMBER
    • Dec. 4 - 5 – Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce Holiday Housewalk.
    • Dec. 5 – Christmas City celebration in Wyoming, featuring a live nativity, Santa Claus, horse-drawn rides and more
    • Dec. 10-12 – 13th Annual Christmas Tree Walk and Craft Show at Lawrence Community Center in Anamosa
    • Dec. 13 – Holiday Celebration in Oxford Junction
    • Dec. 10-12 & 17-19 - Starlighters II Theatre in Anamosa presents Seussical. For tickets, call 319-462-4793.
