Winners of model car contest announced

     The 32^nd Annual Model Car Contest (featured at the KCRG-TV9 48^th O’Reilly Auto Parts Rod and Custom Car Show) took place Feb. 25 and 26 at the Monticello Berndes Center.

     Contest winners received trophy and model kit awards. Results are as follows:

Junior Category, ages 12 and under (cars) – first place, Zach Yates, Monticello, Iowa; second place, RJ Backes, Muscatine, Iowa; third place, Jesse Backes, Muscatine, Iowa; fourth place, Isaac Pilcher, Norwalk, Iowa.

Junior Category, ages 12 and under (trucks) – first place, RJ Backes, Muscatine, Iowa; second place, Jacob Pilcher, Norwalk, Iowa.

Senior Category, ages 13-17 (cars) – first place, Austin Jaeger, Worthington, Iowa; second place, Matt Pilcher, Norwalk, Iowa.

Open Category, ages 18 and over (cars) – first place, Rich Backes, Muscatine, Iowa; second place, Erik Wedo, Waukon, Iowa; third place, Richard Mishler, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; fourth place, Duncan Suthers, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; fifth place, Andy Anderson, Strawberry Point, Iowa; sixth place, Jim Likens, Marion, Iowa.
