Teresa Davis July 25, 1956 – Oct. 13, 2017

Teresa Davis, age 61, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2017 at U of I Hospitals, Iowa City, from complications with AML Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 noon, Wed., Oct. 18, 2017 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where family and friends may gather after 10:00.  

Surviving is her husband Kevin, 2 children, Joy (Matthew) Brown of Washington, Rowdy (Dana) Huffman, of Burleson, Texas, 2 step-children, Jessica (Jacob) Casper, Marion, Zachary (Amber) Davis, Mt. Vernon, 8 grandchildren, Tattum, Elizabeth, Chance, Austin, Coen, Jordan, Brady and Hodge, her mother Mary Broughton, and 3 siblings, Jim Broughton, Leah McDonald, Brian Broughton.   She was preceded in death by her father Neil Broughton and a brother Mike Broughton.

Teresa Ann Broughton was born July 25, 1956 in Faribault, Minn.   She was the daughter of Neil and Mary Miller, Broughton.   She graduated from the Urbandale High School and continued her education taking computer classes at a college in Kansas.     Teresa spent her working career of 30 years at Life Investors/ Aegon/Transamerica. She was a Senior Manager/ Assistant Director of IT.  She traveled to all parts of the United States and to Amsterdam in the Netherlands with her job.  She retired on July 31, 2016.

Teresa married Kevin Davis on May 18, 2007 at Coon Rapids, Iowa.   The couple enjoyed riding horses, going Walleye fishing in Canada twice a year.   At the age of 55, Teresa got her motorcycle license and bought a Harley Fat Boy and she and Kevin enjoyed many trips all over the country.  They would often plan a trip to take in a restaurant featured on Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives.   Most important was her family, especially making certain that everyone had a very special Christmas. 

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
