Speak out, stand up for Stone Bridge

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

Progress on Stone Bridge the project, or should I say lack of progress on the Stone Bridge project. I was recently asked how is the Stone Bridge coming?

It seems to be at a standstill due to lack of action by our Supervisors or is it our County Engineer?

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) has been given the task to raise the money and oversee the project of Stone Bridge restoration, but continue to be at the mercy of the County Engineer, who due to lack of action, has delayed any progress. They closed the road to traffic, but failed to provide access for hikers or biking, as they were supposed to.

The HPC has had the gates (needed to allow public access) for several weeks, but must wait for the county to place them with breakaway posts (per their request).

Lack of action can cause as much damage as out right opposition. What can we do? Call your Supervisors and ask them what is going on.

We lost out on a great opportunity from the Colorado group due to lack of action and disrespect; what else are we going to lose out on if this type of behavior continues!!

The Stone Bridge needs people to speak up and show up.
