     A car versus deer accident took place on Aug. 1 at 5:20 a.m. on Fairview Road/County Road E-34. Michael Joseph Deutmeyer, 55, of Anamosa was driving a 2014 Ram Truck 1500 when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Deutmeyer’s vehicle sustained approximately $6,500 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on July 31 at 6:42 p.m. at 215th Avenue and 90th Street. Troy Thomas Eden, 55, of Marion was driving a 2016 Ford Fiesta when a deer ran from the ditch into the path of his vehicle. Eden swerved in an attempt to miss the deer and lost control. His vehicle overturned into the ditch, coming to rest on its top. Eden was privately transported to Jones Regional Medical for minor injuries. His vehicle sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Aug. 1 at 1:47 p.m. on Fairview Road/County Road E-34. Rebekah Lynne Vetter, 35, of Wauston, Wis., was driving a 2018 Toyota Sienna XLE when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Wauston’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,500 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on Aug. 1 on Highway 1. Dustin Jon Wimer, 29, of Toddville was driving a 2013 Isuzu northbound when he signaled a right turn. Edward Ray Wheeler, 66, of Anamosa was driving a 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack S when he went to pass Wimer on the left. Wimer changed his mind and turned left, hitting Wheeler. No injuries were reported. Wimer’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages. Wheeler’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Aug. 1 at 11:45 a.m. on 15th Street. Clairese Nicole Winkie, 20, of Belle Plaine was driving a 2008 Chrysler Sebring LX when she lost control. Her vehicle rolled, coming to rest on the driver’s side in the south ditch. Winkie was extricated from the vehicle and transported by Mt. Vernon EMS to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Winkie’s vehicle sustained approximately $6,000 in damages.
