Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on July 13 at 10:01 p.m. on Highway 151. Jason Lee Ozenkoski, 47, of St. Peters, Mo., was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion when he encountered a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Ozenkoski’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on July 17 at 9:18 p.m. on Highway 151. Aaron Tucker Osterkamp, 20, of Anamosa, was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX when he encountered a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Osterkamp’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on July 10 at 6:33 a.m. on County Road X-40. Larry James Scofield, 47, of Anamosa was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry LE when he left the roadway and hit a tree on private property. No injuries were reported. There was approximately $200 in damages to the tree, owned by Larry McConaughy of Anamosa. Scofield’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,500 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on July 19 at 8:15 a.m. on Highway 151. Jeffrey Warren Shady, 33, of Center Junction was driving a 1996 Kenworth FLT 1 tractor as he entered the highway, traveling south. Robby Jon Manternach, 39, of Cascade was driving a 2001 Ford F250, also traveling south on the highway. Manternach attempted to pass Shady in the other lane, but a vehicle was in the passing lane, resulting in a rear-end crash. No injuries were reported. Shady’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,200 in damages. Manternach’s vehicle sustained approximately $8,500 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on July 19 at 10:08 p.m. on Violet Road. Monica Casey Miner, 34, of Anamosa, was driving a 2008 Ford Edge when she encountered a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Miner’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,500 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on July 22 at 11:45 p.m. on Highway 1. Riley Shay Taylor, 28, of Dubuque, was driving a 2010 Chevy Malibu when she encountered a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Taylor’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on July 22 at 5:49 p.m. at 80^th Street and 215^th Avenue. Evan Robert Corum, 17, of Martelle was driving a 2006 Ford Taurus north on 215^th Street. Angela Nicole Bierbrodt, 35, of Osage was driving a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country turning out of 80^th Street and did not see Corum as she turned left onto 215^th. Corum struck Bierbrodt’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Corum’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,500 in damages. Bierbrodt’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,500 in damages as well.
