Sheriff's Report

     A one-vehicle accident took place on June 28 at 4:45 a.m. on Highway 151. Ka Xiong Her, 34, of Owasso, Okla., was driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna when she fell asleep at the wheel. Her’s vehicle went off the road and rolled one and a half times before coming to rest on its top. No injuries were reported. Her’s vehicle sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on June 26 at 6:59 a.m. on Jungle Town Road. Jesse Benjamin Curley, 56, of Oxford Junction, was driving a 2000 Chevy S10 when he fell asleep at the wheel. Curley’s vehicle entered the ditch and drove into a creek. The vehicle started filling up with water, and Curley crawled out of the driver’s side window. No injuries were reported. Curley’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,500 in damages.

     A two-vehicle accident took place on June 26 at 5:55 p.m. on Highway 64. Jaden Carroll Camp, 18, of Anamosa, was driving a 2001 Ford F350 when he attempted to pass Jessica Lynn Ricketts, 34, of Onslow, in a no-passing zone. Ricketts was driving a 2010 Ford Edge Limited. Ricketts hit her brakes and Camp struck her vehicle from behind. Ricketts reported minor injuries and refused treatment. Camp was uninjured. Ricketts was cited for unsafe stopping, while Camp was cited for following too close. Ricketts vehicle sustained approximately $10,000 in damages. Camp’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.
