Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on June 14 at 3:34 a.m. on County Road E-17. Andrew Edward Maher, 22, of Low Moor, was driving a 1997 Dodge Stratus when he encountered a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Maher’s vehicle sustained approximately $4,000 in damages.

     A car versus deer accident took place on June 12 at 4:10 p.m. on Highway 151. Lisa D. Tuetken Stark, 57, of Monticello, was driving a 2008 Toyota Sienna when she encountered a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Tuetken Stark’s vehicle sustained approximately $6,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on June 12 at 7:09 p.m. on 200th Avenue and County Road E-17. Joshua J. Fagen, 24, of Monticello, was driving a 1999 GMC Sierra heading south on 200th Avenue. He attempted to turn west onto E-17 and lost control, driving too fast. Fagen rolled his vehicle and came to rest on the driver’s side. He was transported by Anamosa Area Ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids for non-life threatening injuries. Fagen’s vehicle sustained approximately $6,000 in damages. There was also $500 in damages to a fence owned by Don Stickle Jr. of Anamosa.

     A car versus deer accident took place on June 13 at 12:03 p.m. on Highway 38. Austin Cael Fairley, 18, of Monticello, was driving a 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo when he encountered a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Fairley’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on June 12 at 12:46 p.m. on County Home Road E-23. Meida Pan, 28, of Chicago, Ill., was northbound on Highway 151 when she left the roadway and entered the ditch. Pan sustained possible injuries and was transported by Anamosa Area Ambulance to Jones Regional Medical Center. Her vehicle sustained approximately $7,500 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on June 14 at 11:46 p.m. on County Road X-28. Wesley Allan Adcock, 34, of Anamosa was driving a 2014 Fiat 500L when he swerved right to avoid colliding with an oncoming car in his lane. Adcock hit a stone wall just off the roadway. No injuries were reported. Adcock’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damage. There was $50 in damages to the stone wall owned by Weber Stone Company.

     A car versus deer accident took place on June 14 at 9:21 p.m. on Highway 38. Linda Lou Averkamp, 67, of Hopkinton, was driving a 2015 Nissan Rogue when she encountered a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Averkamp’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 in damages.
