Sheriff's Report

     A car versus deer accident took place on June 12 at 2:42 p.m. on County Road X-31. Hannah Lynn Houska, 16, of Anamosa was driving a 2004 Cadillac CTS when a deer came out of the ditch. No injuries were reported. Houska’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on May 27 at 9:35 p.m. on Linn-Jones Road. Bradley Allen Bramer, 33, of Anamosa, was driving a 2013 Kia Soul as he eluded law enforcement by driving through a closed gate on a Level C roadway. Bramer then jumped a small embankment and landed in a farm field. He continued to drive through the planted cornfield until the vehicle came to rest while trying to cross a waterway. Bramer was taken into custody and transported by an officer to Jones Regional Medical Center for his injuries. Bramer caused an undetermined amount of damage to the cornfield. The vehicle he was driving was determined to be stolen from 130th Street near Anamosa. Bramer caused approximately $500 in damages to a fence owned by Doug Platnum of Anamosa. The vehicle sustained approximately $8,500 in damages as well.
