Panthers get under way with meets at ISU, UD
Two meets in the space of five days got the indoor boys track and field season started for the Monticello Panthers last week.
The Panthers competed at the Iowa State University indoor meet March 14.
Avery Martensen had the top finish for the Panthers, tying for eighth place in the high jump with a leap of 6-foot-0.
“With over 80 schools competing in this meet, there is always great competition to start the year off with,” Monticello coach Greg Williams said. “Avery Martensen had a good start to the year with his efforts in the hurdles and high jump.”
Monticello then competed in the University of Dubuque indoor meet March 18. Martensen had a sixth place finish in the high jump by clearing 6-0.
