Panthers close indoor season

BOYS TRACK

     Monticello wrapped up the indoor portion of its 2017 boys track and field season by competing at the River Valley Conference Indoor Meet Thursday, March 23 at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.

     The Panthers had four top-five finishes at the meet, during which no team scores were kept. Two of those came from relays, as the 4x200 team finished second and the 4x800 team was third.

     The other two came from Max Keleher, third in the long jump; and Avery Martensen, fifth in the 60-meter hurdles. Alex Nealson was seventh in the long jump, and Monticello had a pair of top-10 finishes in the shot put, from Wade Picray (eighth) and Jacob Lorenzen (10th).

     The 4x400 team was sixth.
