Panthers celebrate division championship season with awards
Celebrating a season that saw them share the River Valley Conference, North Division championship, the Monticello High School volleyball team held its annual awards event Nov. 6 in the MHS Commons.
The Panthers went 23-10, including 4-1 in division play, earning them a three-way tie for the division crown. All but one of the opponents that defeated Monticello were ranked, and four of those teams advanced to state competition.
In addition, the entire team, including managers, earned Academic All-Conference honors by carrying grade-point averages of 3.5 or above.
