One-vehicle accident results in minor injuries

     Highway 151 in Jones County was closed to one lane on Sept. 1 for about three hours due to a one-vehicle accident.

     The accident took place at around 11:13 a.m. Ronald Lynn Gruenwald, 74, of Venice, Fla., was driving a 2004 GM Sierra K1500, hauling a camper. Gruenwald observed the camper starting to swerve and attempted to slow down but was unable to regain control. He lost control of the truck and trailer and entered the median of the northbound lane and rolled. Gruenwald and his passenger were transported by ambulance to Jones Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. A cat inside the camper was also rescued and treated at the Anamosa Vet Clinic.

     Gruenwald’s vehicle sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.
