Farm Bureau hosts legislative meeting

     The Jones County Farm Bureau will host a legislative meeting at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa on Saturday, Jan. 21. Legislative Chair Darren Stadtmueller will begin the meeting at 9 a.m.

     This is an opportunity to speak with your legislators about your concerns and the issues you would like to see surfaced during the session.

     This meeting is open to the public.

 

T.T.T. scooter party, Jan. 20

     Preschool through middle school students are invited to a T.T.T. scooter party at the Monticello Berndes Center Friday, Jan. 20, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Concessions are available. Proceeds will be used to send promising young leaders to camp.

 

JCED hosts legislative forum

     The public is invited to attend a legislative forum hosted by Jones County Economic Development on Friday, Jan. 27, at noon. The forum will be held in the Monticello City Council Chambers located in the Renaissance Center, 220 E. First St.

 

JREC offers Barn Quilt Class

     Barn quilts are a beautiful expression of your family and home. In the Barn Quilt Class, learn the technique of painting a barn quilt with a beginning design on a 2-foot by 2-foot board. Color choices will be available.

     This is a four-session class at the Kirkwood Jones Regional Center. The class will meet for two weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. starting on Jan. 31 to Feb. 9. The cost of the class is $35 with an additional materials fee of $25 payable to the instructor, Gina Dirks, at the first class.
