Monticello Federated Garden Club

     The Monticello Federated Garden Club met March 23, 2017 at the Presbyterian Church. The meeting was called to order by President Marla Walters. A Reading was given by Marla Walters. Treasurer report was given by Rhonda Meyer.

     We had a discussion of what we will plant and take care of at Fountain Garden and boxes at the community building.

     The District meeting will be held May 5 at Van Horn. The topic for the day will be Spring Flowers are Abuzzin. Roger Buhr will speak on spring flowers and design. Sarah Subbert will speak on the mason bee, prairie flowers and frogs.

     Donna Helgens brought a beautiful flower arrangement. Marla Walters and Ruth Zirkelbach served a delicious lunch.

     Sharon Hasler gave an intereting program on edible weeds. She brought delicious samples of wild grape jelly, elderberry syrup and more.

     Next meeting we will meet at 9 a.m. at the Presbyterian church parking lot to carpool to Dyersville to tour a green house and lunch at the Country Junction.
