MHS hosts district FFA contest

     More than 600 Iowa FFA students converged upon Monticello High School Saturday, March 11 for the Northeast District FFA Competition.

     Among the competitors were FFA Chapter members from Monticello, Maquoketa Valley and Midland.

     New district officers were elected, and Monticello FFA advisor Eric Schmitt completed his term as the Northeast District FFA advisor.

     Results from the area schools follow.

 

Monticello

     Creed Speaking: Travis Heinrich, silver.

     Experience the Action: Marissa Recker, Lauren Shady, Jordan Lorenzen, Sydney Hansen, Corinne Gadient; silver.

     Parliamentary Procedure: Breanna Adams, Wesley Henderson, Jacob Manternach, Gavin Cooper, Kirklen Kiburz; bronze.

     Academic Achievement: Megan Heinrich.

    

Maquoketa Valley

     Chapter FFA Test (individual): Josie Young, gold, second place; Shelby Westhoff, gold, 10th place; Grant Hoeger, silver; Becca Dunkel, silver; Cassi Westhoff, silver; Nathan Weber, bronze.

     Farm Management (team): Amanda Engelken, Seth Deutmeyer, Evan Gaul, Brandon Bonert; gold, second place.

     Chapter FFA Test (team): Josie Young, Shelby Westhoff; gold, third place.

     Farm Management (individual): Amanda Engelken, gold, fourth place; Brandon Bonert, silver; Seth Deutmeyer, silver; Evan Gaul, silver.

     Greenhand Test (individual): Mason Kruse, gold; Matthew Hucker, bronze; Aaron Knipper, bronze; Michael Feldmann, bronze;
