Marilyn Burlage Sept. 19, 1941 – Nov. 23, 2016

Marilyn Burlage, 75, of Monticello died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at home surrounded by her family.

Visitation was held from 3 - 7 pm Sunday, Nov. 27, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello where a parish vigil service was held at 3 pm.

Visitation continued from 10 – 11 am Monday, Nov. 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello where a Mass of Christian Burial commenced at 11 am.  Rev. Paul Baldwin officiated.  Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello.

Marilyn was born Sept. 19, 1941, near Dyersville, the daughter of Gerald and Agnes (Tauke) Rahe.  She graduated from Xavier High School in Dyersville with the class of 1958.  She married Robert Burlage on Nov. 27, 1965, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville.  Together they farmed east of Monticello until they moved to town in 2002.

Surviving are her husband, Robert; 4 children: Peg (Frank) Mere and Marty (Stacey) Burlage, both of Monticello, Jane (John) Smith of Lafayette, Ind., and Tim (Rubi) Burlage of Florham Park, N.J.; 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; a sister, Karen (Leon) Funke, and a brother, Ken (Shirley) Rahe, both of Dyersville; in-laws: Grace Tallman of Davenport, John (Doris) Burlage of Monticello, Richard Burlage of Brooklyn, N.Y., Helen Hignite of Edmond, Okla., and Donald (Marcia) Burlage of Tipton, Ind.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, Lawrence and Frances Burlage, and in-laws: Richard Tallman, Bill (Jeanne) Burlage and Floyd Hignite.

Memorials are preferred.
