Many candidates vying for school board seats

     The names of candidates for Jones County school board openings have been released. School board elections will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Monticello

     There are three candidates running to fill three seats, four-year terms:

     • Incumbent Bud Johnson, Monticello

     • Mandy Norton, Monticello

     • Craig Stadtmueller, Monticello

Anamosa

     There are five candidates running to fill three seats, four-year terms:

     • Carl Chalstrom, Anamosa

     • Brian L. Hurt, Anamosa

     • Matt McQuillen, Anamosa

     • Heather Sims, Anamosa

     • Lowell Tiedt, Anamosa

     There are also two candidates running to fill one vacant seat, two-year term:

     • Kandice Behnke, Anamosa

     • Nicole Claussen, Anamosa

Midland

     There are eight candidates running to fill four seats, four-year terms:

     • Incumbent Nikki Rushford, Wyoming

     • Derek Denniston, Wyoming

     • Sarah Fishwild, Wyoming

     • Cassandra Gilson, Onslow

     • Travis Hansen, Wyoming

     • Jessica Nicely, Oxford Junction

     • Jordan Oberbreckling, Wyoming

     • Patti Pace-Tracy, Wyoming

Olin

     There are two candidates running to fill two seats, four-year terms:

     • Incumbent Rosanne Brown, Olin

     • Joel Ahrendsen, Oxford Junction

     There is also one candidate running to fill one vacant seat, two-year term:

     • Ruth Houston, Olin

     Polling sites through Jones County will be open on Sept. 12 from noon to 8 p.m. The Monticello polling site is the only location open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
