Senior Jacob Manternach was voted to the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association (IPSWA) All-State Baseball Team July 29 in Des Moines, as a third team catcher. Manternach batted .393 with four home runs, eight doubles and 28 runs batted in. Defensively, he threw out 11 of 16 runners who were attempting to steal. (Express file photos)

Senior Ryan Manternach was voted to the IPSWA All-State Baseball Team as a third team utility player. Manternach had a pitching record of 6-1 with a 1.85 earned run average. He struck out 45 in 45 1/3 innings, and opponents batted .178 against him. Offensively, he batted 352 with two triples, five doubles and 23 RBIs. The IPSWA was formed in 2017 to select all-state teams that were formerly chosen by the Iowa Newspaper Association.
