On March 12, F&M Bank was honored to host over 160 area professionals at its Women in Business Luncheon at Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids. Liz Nead, of Nead Inspiration, presented “The Power of Now: The Secret to Your Best Life.” Nead challenged the audience to understand that the most productive life is not always the best life. Living your best life is about harnessing the “Power of the Now” using the lessons from the past, then designing a future with purpose – using your attention and intention to choose excellence in each moment. Nead shared “8 Ways to Live the Power of Now” with the audience. By identifying one method and focusing on it until it is integrated into your daily life, you can improve relationships, manage your time better, and give of yourself at a higher level.

“Leaning into the now can feel inefficient and purposeless, but in the end, the benefits are balance, focus, peace and sustainability,” states Nead. “It’s about being intentional with your actions and focusing on the task at hand. If you don’t, you may miss out on some of what life is offering you.”

“Liz’s ‘Power of Now’ presentation was full of relatable, authentic and thoughtful messages that drew the audience in and engaged them in the presentation,” stated Deb Worm, client relations at F&M Bank. “Guests left invigorated and motivated, with tools to help improve their lives. Liz was everything we could have hoped for in a speaker – and more!”

Tirzah Wedewer, senior vice president and CFO of F&M Bank was thrilled to offer this event. “There is value in offering this type of program to our business community. As a bank, we are very supportive of professional women in general, but particularly women business owners. As a business professional myself, I see great importance to bringing the community together and supporting one another.”

Deann McDonald, executive vice president Human Relations, added, “The support which Liz offered is profound. Through her inspirational best selling books, coaching materials and videos, Liz coaches us; it is never too late to create the life you deserve. We can make more money, but we can not make more time.”

Beyond the presentation, guests were able to enjoy lunch and networking opportunities with professionals from numerous organizations and professions. This event was incredibly well received, and F&M Bank is already planning for its next Women in Business Luncheon.
