Extension offers youth BBQ camp

     The Science of BBQ Camp is being offered through the Jones County Extension Office. This one-day summer camp is being offered to third through eighth graders. During this camp, youth will learn about the following:

     • Grilling methods

     • Meat cuts and composition

     • Cooking temperatures

     • How to incorporate rubs, marinades, and seasonings

     • Food safety techniques

     The camp will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, and will be held at the Jones County Extension Office at the Youth Development Center, 800 N. Maple St., Monticello, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
