Extension offers future planning workshop
Every family will likely face health issues “someday.” By planning ahead, you can be better prepared to ask your healthcare providers appropriate questions and have the information you need when “someday” arrives.
“Planning Ahead for Future Care” is a two-part workshop from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. It will be offered Mondays, Feb. 18 and Feb. 25 from 9:15 to 11 a.m. at the Citizens State Bank Youth Development Center in Monticello. Please plan to attend both sessions. The workshop is free.
Because it is a pilot, participants will receive a gift card of $15 per session in thanks for their participation and feedback at each session.
The interactive workshops include a short video and group discussion, along with the information shared by workshop leader Phyllis Zalenski, a human sciences specialist in family finance with ISU Extension and Outreach in Jones County.
Refreshments will be served. Participants will leave with valuable resource materials and information to help them be prepared for unexpected health events, including emergency room visits, and for family discussions about healthcare priorities.
Pre-register by Tuesday, Feb. 12 by calling Phyllis Zalenski at the Jones County ISU Extension and Outreach office at 319-465-3224.
