Extension to conduct Crop Advantage series

     Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialists will travel to the Clarion Highlander Hotel, Hwy 1 and I-80, Exit 246, Iowa City for the 2019 Crop Advantage Series to be held on Jan. 29, 2019.

     Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., program runs from 8:55 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This series is to provide farmers, crop consultants and agribusinesses with current research from Iowa State University and updated management information and recommendations based on current and future crop production issues. In addition, the meeting will also offer continuing education credits for Certified Crop Advisers (CCA) and pesticide safety recertification. ISU Extension and Outreach will travel to 14 locations across Iowa for the 2019 Crop Advantage Series Jan. 4-29.

     “The Crop Advantage Series is a unique program that brings many extension specialists together to individual sites across the state,” said Rebecca Vittetoe, ISU Extension and Outreach field agronomist. “Content at each meeting is driven by county needs and production issues.”

     Topics at the Iowa City Crop Advantage Series meeting will include: lean and mean crop production for 2019, weed management in 2019, soybean gall midge, a corn disease update, nitrogen management in variable environments, and a crop market outlook for 2018.

     Early registration is $50, and late registration made less than seven days prior to the meeting or on-site is $60. Registration includes lunch, printed proceedings, private pesticide applicator recertification and CCA credits.
