      Evelyn Reuter age 86, of Monticello,  died Wednesday Jan. 16, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids due to complications of diabetes.

      Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Jan. 19, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery.  Friends called from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello where  a parish Rosary was held at 4 p.m..   Friends called at the church on Saturday morning after 9:30 a.m..    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Monticello Food Pantry.

      Surviving are four children: Karla (Dan) McMurrin, Alburnett, James (Jackie) Reuter and Tom (Teresa) Reuter both of Monticello, Jerry (Barb) Reuter, Omaha; 10 grandchildren, Deanna (Blake) Frericks, Marion, Kevin McMurrin (Morgan Troendle), Alburnett, Jennifer Reuter, Cedar Rapids, Jeremy (Megan), A.J., Michael, Mason and Zachary Reuter all of Monticello, Jasmine Reuter, Cedar Rapids, and Colin Reuter, Omaha;  six great-grandchildren,  Riece, Madison and Alex Frericks of Marion, Riley, Brenden and Liam Reuter, Monticello; her sister, Alice Murphy, Minneapolis, two brothers, Ray (Janice) Larkin, El Paso, Texas, and Herbert (Patsy) Larkin, Waukon.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy in 2010, three sisters, Marion Ryan, Frances Gallagher, Eleanor Ryan and three brothers John, Charles and Clem Larkin.

      Evelyn Louise Larkin was born Aug. 10, 1932 at Waukon, Iowa.  She was the daughter of John and Miranda Link, Larkin.  Evelyn graduated from St. Patricks Catholic School in Waukon in 1950.   She worked at the Monticello State Bank and Prudential Life Insurance Company in Cedar Rapids.  Evelyn Larkin and Roy Reuter were married June 30, 1956 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The couple made their home in the Monticello area and farmed on the Jones-Delaware Road.  They retired from farming in 1990.

      Evelyn was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she helped with the funeral lunches.  She also volunteered at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Food Pantry, and the Senior Dining Program in Monticello.
