District Court

     Martin Joseph Payton, Monticello, pleaded guilty to child endangerment and possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to two years in prison, and fined a total of $940 plus court costs. The sentence was suspended, and Payton was placed on supervised probation for two years. He had three additional counts of child endangerment and possession of cocaine, all dismissed. Payton also pleaded guilty to delivering or possessing with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on probation for three years. He was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $1,000 plus court costs.

     Joshua David Klaren, Monticello, pleaded not guilty to driving while barred. A jury trial is set for Sept. 25.

     Caitlyn Marie Groth, Olin, was charged with unauthorized use of credit card and 4th degree theft. A preliminary hearing is set for July 11.

     Adam Joseph Merfeld, Monticello, was found guilty to enticing a minor. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on probation for three years. He was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $750 plus court costs. Merfeld had a charge of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, dismissed.

     Jeffrey Ray Jenkins, Marion, was found guilty of manufacturing, delivering, or possessing with intent to manufacture/deliver methamphetamine and gathering where controlled substances are unlawfully used. He was sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison, and fined a total of $1,750 plus court costs. The sentences and fines were suspended, and he was placed on supervised probation for three years. Jenkins was also found guilty to conspiring to manufacture, deliver or possess with intent to deliver methamphetamine and two counts of delivering or possessing with intent to deliver methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and fined a total of $3,000 plus court costs. The sentences and fines were suspended, and he was placed on probation for three years.

     Alexis Nicole Lakose, Oxford Junction, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and child endangerment. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on probation for three years. He was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $1,625 plus court costs. The civil penalty was suspended. Lakose had a charge of gathering where controlled substances are used, dismissed.

     Jamie Alen Boge, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on probation for three years. He was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $1,000 plus court costs. The civil penalty was suspended. Boge also pleaded guilty to interference with official police service dog, OWI 1st offense, possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of prescription drug. He was sentenced to two days in jail, and fined a total of $1,565 plus court costs.

     Luther Joe Gilbert, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to possession of burglar’s tools, possession of marijuana 1st offense, two counts of 3rd degree criminal mischief, and two counts of 3rd degree theft. He was sentenced to one year in jail, to run concurrently with three other sentences. He was fined a total of $2,190 plus court costs, and ordered to pay victim restitution. Gilbert had charges of 2nd degree criminal mischief and three additional counts of 3rd degree burglary, all dismissed.

     John William James Melville, Jr., Anamosa, pleaded guilty to domestic abuse assault. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, and fined $625 plus court costs. Fifty-eight days were suspended, and he was placed on self-supervised probation for one year.

     Denise Marie O’Brien, Monticello, pleaded guilty to driving while barred and the lesser offense of disorderly conduct. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail, and fined $625 plus court costs.

     Kaleb James Welk, Davenport, pleaded not guilty to controlled substance violation (cocaine) and possession of marijuana 2nd offense. A jury trial is set for Sept. 25.

     Charles James Ellison, Monticello, leaded guilty to 3rd degree burglary. A jury trial is set for Aug. 21.

     Heather Regina Szakacs, Marion, was charged with possession of methamphetamine 3rd offense. A preliminary hearing is set for July 2.

     Kayla Michelle Stolba Ritzke, Anamosa, was charged with 2nd degree burglary and 2nd degree criminal mischief. A preliminary hearing is set for July 11.

     Krystal Leigh Eiben, Anamosa, was charged with domestic abuse assault 2nd offense. A preliminary hearing is set for July 11.

     Dylan James Steines, Maquoketa, had a charge of possession of marijuana 1st offense, demised.

     Dakota Lee Oberholser, Onslow, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana 1st offense. He was sentenced to two days in jail, and fined $315 plus court costs.

     Courtney Louise Harden, Olin, pleaded not guilty to three counts of false report of indictable offense to public entity. A jury trial is set for Aug. 21.

     Jeffery James Meister, Ryan, pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Aug. 21.

     Colton James Craig, Monticello, pleaded not guilty to possession of marijuana 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Aug. 21.

     Sondee Marie Geiger, Olin, pleaded not guilty to unlawful possession of prescription drugs. No court date was set.

     John Christopher Jacobson, Olin, was charged with domestic abuse assault-injury/mental illness 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for July 2.

     Matthew James Weiland, Dubuque, was charged with possession of marijuana 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for July 2.

     Lindsay Lee Takes, Monticello, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. She was sentenced to two days in jail, and fined $1,250 plus court costs.

     Tamara Lynn Coons, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. She was sentenced to two days in jail, and fined $1,250 plus court costs.

     Jacob Wayne Heasty, Monticello, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. He was sentenced to two days in jail, and fined $1,250 plus court costs.

     Logan Brett Seeley, Anamosa, was charged with OWI 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for July 11.
