District Court

     Nicole Marie Lopez, Monticello, pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily injury. Judgment was deferred, and she was placed on self-supervised probation for one year. She was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $315 plus court costs, and victim restitution.

     Alex Leon Dirks, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to driving while barred. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, to run concurrently with two other sentences. He was fined $315 plus court costs. The fine was suspended. Dirks also pleaded guilty to animal torture. He was sentenced to two years in prison, to run concurrently with another sentence, and fined $625 plus court costs. Both the sentence and fine were suspended, and Dirks was placed on self-supervised probation for two years. In addition, Dirks pleaded guilty to 3rd degree theft. He was fined $315 plus court costs, and ordered to pay victim restitution.

     Yolonda Denise Rowell, Anamosa, pleaded not guilty to child endangerment. A jury trial is set for Sept. 18.

     Torrie Chelsea Minnaert, Olin, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana 1st offense and reckless use of fire. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail, and fined $315 plus court costs. The sentence was suspended, and Minnaert was placed on self-supervised probation for one year.

     Jessica Ann Marie Hartwig, Des Moines, pleaded not guilty to three counts of forgery. A jury trial is set for Sept. 18.

     Jason Alan Parker, Monticello, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of 5th degree criminal mischief. He was sentenced to three days in jail, and ordered to pay victim restitution.

     Tylor Dean Boheman, Monticello, pleaded guilty to 4th degree criminal mischief. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, and fined $315 plus court costs. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on self-supervised probation for one year, and ordered to pay victim restitution.

     Kelsey May Kirby, Maquoketa, pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Sept. 18.

     Toby John Heiken, Wyoming, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. Heiken was also ordered to pay a civil penalty of $1,250 plus court costs.

     Mackenna Kristine Scofield, Lisbon, was charged with OWI 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for June 27.
