David Siebels Oct. 1, 1948 – Oct. 29, 2018

      David Siebels, age 70 died suddenly at his home, Monday morning, Oct. 29, 2018.

      Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Nov. 3, 2018 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday.  Celebrant Holly Knouse will officiate at the services.  Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors.

      Surviving is his wife, Sally, two children, Teresa (Jason) Siebels-Paulsen,  Justin Siebels  and two grandsons, Tyler Felton, Tanner (Alyssa Montoya) Felton, his father-in-law, Harold Eby and special friend Helen Heiken, five siblings, Jeanette Johnston, Cleo(Mike) Rogers, Elaine (Gary) Pitz, Bev (Jim) Ervine, Paul (Linda) Siebels and many cousins and grand dogs.   He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Maxine Eby, and a brother-in-law Leroy Johnston.

      David Edwin Siebels was born Oct. 1, 1948 at Anamosa, Iowa.  He was the son of Harvey and Frances Louise Caspers, Siebels.   He graduated from the Anamosa  Community Schools in 1966.   David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  David and Sally Eby were married on April 17, 1971 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church rural Monticello. David farmed with his father-in-law, Harold near Scotch Grove.  In 1987 he went to work at Georgia Pacific and worked there until he retired in 2010.   In retirement he worked at Oak Street in Monticello and for Steve Robinson Farms in Mechanicsville.

      David was a family man and was especially proud of his grandsons. He rarely missed one of their many sporting events.
