Why did you want to re-run for city council? I would like to continue my position as Councilman At-large. I believe in a conservative approach. I think it is important to listen to our taxpayers, and see that our tax dollars are spent wisely.

What are some challenges the city will face in the near future? The city’s challenge is the never-ending increases in costs that make it difficult to keep improving aging infrastructure, without raising taxes.

     Another challenge is trying to resolve the Sixth Street Ditch issue.

     Also ongoing is the issue with garbage bags. It was a great plan to promote recycling and create a user fee, but with the continued problems with the bags, I think it is time to find another alternative.

How should the city of Monticello manage growth and economic development? I am confident the city is headed in the right direction, managing growth and economic development. The city has provided numerous incentives, and participation in Jones County Economic Development has been beneficial.
