So when you favorite college team fails to make the big dance, how do most of you react? Do you still watch the tournament? Do you pick another team to root for? Or like most, do you fill out a NCAA bracket or two and suddenly root for 32 brand new favorites in round one?

How about round two? Did you get all Sweet 16 teams correct? If you did you’re pretty good.

Pretty soon you may have up to 8 favorite elite teams, and if you are an excellent prognosticator you get down to a Final Four of favorites even though one or two of those you despised during the regular season.

Finally you get to where you have two brand new favorite teams, lets say a Duke vs. UCLA. Surely you hate both of these teams because they are way better than your favorite team.

But that doesn’t stop you from cheering on one of those teams to win it all. Because you know there’s a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow after you picked Duke as your national champion.

Welcome to March Madness! (See what I just did there?)
