B.E. Fitness encourages healthy lifestyles in New Year

B.E. Fitness and Training Center offers a Les Mills RPM cycling class several times a week aside from the other various group fitness classes.      To help people accomplish and stay accountable for their New Year’s resolutions for a healthier lifestyle, B.E. Fitness & Training Center in Monticello is offering a wealth of classes morning and night.

The classes are geared toward strength training (anaerobic) and/or cardio workout (aerobic).

“According to the NIH (National Institutes of Health),” said B.E. Fitness’ Group Fitness Manager Andrea Hall, “you can reduce your risk of chronic vascular disease by aiming for 30 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic activity five days a week.”

Hall said it’s important to balance one’s workout regime with both anaerobic and aerobic options.

B.E. Fitness also has trained instructors teaching each class they offer at their facility.

“These people have a passion for getting people active,” said Hall, “and provide opportunities to live a healthier and fuller life.” Hall added that these instructors keep their classes “fresh, fun and exciting.”

Hall said with the variety of classes they offer, she encourages attendees to come to multiple classes to establish retention and a routine. She said if you cannot make it to a class, at least stay up on your physical fitness by coming to gym on a regular basis.

The classes not only hold people accountable, but also offer a social aspect as well as reinforcement.

Within the variety of classes, B.E. Fitness offers two Les Mills’ certified classes: RPM and BODYPUMP. Hall said all of their Les Mills trainers attended a rigorous 18-hour course to be able to bring this popular workout style to Monticello and to become certified.

“They all have a passion for fitness,” she said.

B.E. Fitness is now a licensed Les Mills facility, something Hall is proud of.

“The closest Les Mills facilities are 30 miles away and often larger facilities,” she said.

Les Mills has been around for 40 years, and constantly looks for ways to stay on the cutting edge of fitness.

Les Mills BODYPUMPTM

This class is for those looking to get lean, toned, and fit. It uses light to moderate weights with retention. BODYPUMP provides a total body workout.

Instructors will coach you on scientifically proven techniques through encouragement, motivation and great music.

Les Mills RPMTM

This is an indoor cycling program where attendees ride to the rhythm of the music. You encounter different terrain with the team of riders and a coach leading the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials, and interval training.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa means “breath synchronized movements.” The movements are smooth, flowing, and physically exhilarating. This form of yoga helps improve the energy flow throughout your body. It also helps release stress.

Dance Cardio

This is fun, upbeat class that combines different dance moves to get your heart pumping and your muscles burning. This class is for those who find themselves on the treadmill and cardio machines all the time.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

HIIT is a training technique in which you give it your all, 100 percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, following by short, active, recovery periods. This training technique keeps your heart rate up and burns fat in less time.

Kickboxing

This class is all about cardio with a fusion of boxing, martial arts and aerobics. It is not designed to make a “fighter” out of you, but to provide a full-body workout. It allows you to improve flexibility, coordination, and balance, while burning fat and boosting endurance.

Strength Training

This workout is essential to build lean muscle, burn fat and calories, and prevent injuries. It is low-impact using a variety of sizes of weights to provide a full-body workout. It helps build strength, improve anaerobic endurance, raise your metabolic rate, and promote muscle and bone health.

Weight Step Aerobics

This is a form of aerobic exercise using an actual step platform. The height can be tailored based on one’s comfort and level of difficulty. This is a moderate intensity cardio and strength training workout.
