The Great Jones County Fair has announced that Jason Aldean concert tickets will go on sale on Friday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m.

Aldean will perform at the fair on Thursday, July 19. His opening act will be announced at a later date.

Tickets will be $65 for both the amphitheater and seated hillside. The standing-room-only track tickets are $75.

Aldean last performed at the GJCF in 2011.

“He sold a lot of tickets last time,” recalled GJCF Manager John Harms.

The GJCF has a history now of announcing acts a whole year in advance.

“He (Aldean) was willing to route and book early for our announcement,” explained Harms. “That’s the expectations with our fan base now.”

Believe it or not, but the fair is already working on securing entertainment for the follow year’s fair, 2019.

Aldean has seen a resurgence in his career.

“Ticket sales for his shows have all been good,” Harms said, alluding to expectations for the GJCF.

It’s hard to believe that Aldean’s first single, “Hicktown,” was only released 12 years ago in 2005. That was also the year he won his first award, the ACM’s Top New Male Vocalist.

Since then, he’s produced seven albums, with an eighth one due out in late 2017/early 2018.

“With all the albums we’ve done, we’ve always taken out own path and not thought about what everyone else is doing,” Aldean was quoted as saying.

His career also includes almost 30 music awards. In both 2016 and 2017, he won the ACM Entertainer of the Year.

“Eleven years into my career, after years of being nominated and watching your buddies win it, guys that were your opening act, it gets to a point where you think maybe it’s not going to happen,” Aldean said. “So winning was more emotional than anything, a reflection back on 11 years. That being said, after we got it one time, now I want to win it again! I remember coming out our first show back and getting the band together and saying, ‘OK, we got the belt now—let’s go out and show them why we got it.’ It was definitely a shot in the arm.”

Aldean has sold over 14 million albums in his career as well.

“I think we all hope that people are still listening to our music years down the road,” said Aldean. “But I’ve never done anything with the intention of that happening. I want to go out, make music my way, and never be put in a box, just be allowed to experiment and be an artist.”

Last year, he took on his first stadium tour.

“There is no other feeling like playing a song and having a whole stadium singing it back to you,” he said. “People say things are like a drug—but that’s really like a drug, you want to feel that feeling every single day. It’s crazy that me playing with my little band in the garage turned into that. Hopefully, it doesn’t end anytime soon.”

Tickets for the Jason Aldean concert at the GJCF can be purchased by visiting the fair’s website: www.greatjonescountyfair.com.

     “I expect a sell-out,” warned Harms.
