Accident on Highway 38

A two-vehicle accident took place on Aug. 7 at 9:58 a.m. at the intersection of E. Tenth St. and Highway 38 North/N. Cedar St. Lisa Jean Vierkant, 42, of Hopkinton turned left in front of an oncoming vehicle, also attempting to turn left. Vierkant hit Rex Richard Etten, 55, of Scotch Grove. Vierkant stated she was making sure she was turning on the correct street when she pulled in front of Etten. Vierkant was uninjured. Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $5,000. Teen was uninjured, but his passenger, Diane Marie Etten, 55, sustained minor injuries.
